CINCINNATI, OH (June 11, 2025) — Cincinnati Works is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Monica J. Posey, President of Cincinnati State Technical and Community College, to its Board of Directors. Dr. Posey brings a wealth of experience in higher education leadership, workforce development, and community partnerships that will be invaluable as Cincinnati Works continues to expand its Next Generation program.
Dr. Posey has served as President of Cincinnati State for nine years, where she has focused on building relationships to achieve the college’s mission and expanding employer partnerships to address the tri-state’s skills gap. Her accomplishments include driving enrollment growth, introducing bachelor’s degrees, expanding College Credit Plus, and successfully leading a 10-year institutional reaccreditation effort.
“I am honored to join the Board of Directors of Cincinnati Works,” said Dr. Posey. “The organization’s mission to eliminate poverty through employment aligns perfectly with my own passion for creating pathways to economic mobility through education and workforce development. I look forward to working together to ensure more young adults in our community can access meaningful opportunities and achieve long-term financial stability.”
Dr. Posey’s impressive credentials include a Doctor of Education from the University of Cincinnati, a Master of Business Administration from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University. She also brings corporate experience from her tenure at AT&T and has held various leadership roles in higher education, including assistant dean, director of Institutional Research, academic vice president, and provost.

Dr. Posey also serves on the board of GRAD Cincinnati and the CPS Business Advisory Council. Her contributions to the community have been widely recognized, including honors from the Cincinnati Business Courier Women Who Mean Business, the Greater Cincinnati YWCA Career Women of Achievement, and Cincy Magazine’s 100 Most Influential.
