Cincinnati Works Welcomes Amanda McDonald as Chief Development Officer

CINCINNATI, OH – August 4, 2025 – Cincinnati Works is proud to announce the appointment of Amanda McDonald as Chief Development Officer, effective today, August 4, 2025. A seasoned nonprofit leader with more than a decade of experience in fundraising, donor engagement, and strategic philanthropy, Amanda brings a deep passion for community building and economic equity to her new role.

Amanda joins Cincinnati Works from Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati, where she served as Director of Philanthropy and led all fundraising functions, launching the organization’s first monthly giving and planned giving programs and developed comprehensive donor engagement strategies. She also led successful fundraising campaigns, increased foundation and government support, and implemented business systems to improve donor stewardship and CRM reporting. She previously held senior advancement roles at CHNK Behavioral Health, ArtsWave, and the UC Foundation. Amanda also brings operational experience from her time at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, where she held a leadership role in business operations supporting clinical research. Throughout her career, Amanda has launched transformative giving programs, secured millions in philanthropic support, and built impactful relationships with donors, partners, and community stakeholders.

In her new role, Amanda will lead all development efforts for Cincinnati Works, including fundraising strategy, donor relations, grant development, and major gifts. Her leadership will be vital in advancing the organization’s mission to eliminate poverty through employment and building a more inclusive workforce in Greater Cincinnati.

Amanda is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati and an alumna of the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber’s C-Change Leadership Program. She is a member of the Greater Cincinnati Planned Giving Council and is a former finalist for the Legacy Next Generation Leader Awards.
