Jan and Tom Hardy were honored June 22 with the Voices of Giving Award by the Greater Cincinnati Planned Giving Council. The Hardys were selected for their tremendous generosity toward Cincinnati Works.
The Hardys have supported Cincinnati Works’ mission to eliminate poverty for over a decade. Since 2017, Tom has served on the organization’s board. In 2021, Tom and Jan made a $1 million donation to Cincinnati Works’ endowment, providing funding that can be invested year after year.
“Jan and Tom Hardy have been our partners for years in the effort to eliminate poverty from our community,” said Cincinnati Works President and CEO Tianay Amat. “It is a joy to see them honored for their years of generosity. Congratulations Jan and Tom for this well-deserved award. We are so grateful for their support.”
When making their $1 million gift, Tom and Jan were looking to ensure the longevity of Cincinnati Works.
“With this gift specifically to the endowment, we want to say to all that Cincinnati Works will be around for a while, continuing to do impressive, good work for our community and helping to ensure that the next generation does not experience poverty,” Tom and Jan Hardy said at the time. “We hope that our gift will encourage other Cincinnati Works supporters to add to this important foundation for our future.”
According to the Greater Cincinnati Planned Giving Council, “the Voices of Giving Awards pay tribute to those Greater Cincinnatians who–out of selflessness, generosity, and foresight–have chosen to make a bequest or planned gift to a favorite charitable organization. These individuals represent the true spirit of giving.”
