Sometimes, gaining a new skill is all it takes to unlock the next opportunity.
For Darywood Morris, investing in his digital skills became the key to advancing his career and preparing him to help others do the same.
As a Cincinnati Works Member, Darywood enrolled in Digital Literacy 1 and Digital Literacy 2 with a goal of strengthening his technology skills and becoming more confident in today’s workplace. What he gained was much more than technical knowledge.
“Attending the Cincinnati Works D-Lit 1 & 2 was a game changer for me,” Darywood shared. “It gave me an opportunity to polish my digital literacy skills and opened new ideas and ways I can apply what I’ve learned in the workforce.”
The impact was immediate.
Since completing the courses, Darywood has been promoted to Career Navigator, a role that allows him to guide and encourage others as they pursue employment and career growth. The very skills he developed through Cincinnati Works are now helping him empower others on their own journeys.
“Since taking the classes, I’ve been promoted to Career Navigator at my place of employment. The skills I gained during D-Lit 1 & 2 will definitely come in handy when helping others on their job-seeking journey.”
Darywood also expressed his gratitude for the people who helped him succeed along the way.
