Cincinnati, OH – Cincinnati Works is proud to announce the launch of Fair Chance Works. This groundbreaking program is dedicated to breaking the cycles of incarceration and poverty that have persisted across generations in our community.
At Cincinnati Works, we believe in the resilience and strength of the human spirit. Fair Chance Works embodies this belief, offering individuals impacted by incarceration the opportunity to rebuild their lives and futures.
“Fair Chance Works is not just about second chances—it’s about fair chances,” said Tianay Amat, President & CEO of Cincinnati Works. “We’re creating a pathway for people to heal, grow, and contribute to their families, workplaces, and communities. This is more than employment—it’s transformation.”
Breaking Barriers and Building Futures
Fair Chance Works addresses the unique challenges faced by individuals reentering society after incarceration. Through a comprehensive, trauma-informed approach.
“Our Members don’t want handouts—they want opportunities,” said Calista Hargrove, Chief Strategy Officer and visionary behind Fair Chance Works. “This initiative opens doors to meaningful employment while providing the tools and support needed to succeed.”
A Transformative Approach to Ending Cycles
Fair Chance Works incorporates Community Violence Intervention (CVI) strategies, addressing the root causes of violence and trauma within the community. By providing alternatives and pathways for change, the program aims to create a ripple effect of healing and transformation.
“Fair Chance Works is about hope, dignity, and real change,” said Hargrove. “It’s a testament to the belief that no one should be defined by their past or a single mistake.”
A Community United for Change
Through partnerships with local businesses, community leaders, and support networks, Fair Chance Works represents a shared commitment to building a stronger, more equitable Cincinnati.
Cincinnati Works invites all residents of the community to join in this mission. Together, we can break the invisible shackles of incarceration, poverty, and hopelessness—and create a brighter future for all.
