After four people were shot in East Price Hill early this summer, Mitch Morris and our Phoenix Program outreach team spent two hours every Friday for six straight weeks on Warsaw Avenue, distributing water and flyers and talking about the role Cincinnati Works can play in changing lives.
Mitch and his crew were joined at times by representatives of the Cincinnati Police Department, Cincinnati Public Schools, the Sisters of Charity, the East Price Hill Improvement Association and City Council.
Police Capt. Paul Broxterman wrote a note of appreciation to Cincinnati Works: “Mitch and his team worked tirelessly in the area to talk with residents and calm the fears of an anxious community. … I cannot say enough good things about your organization. Many community organizations talk a good game, but Cincinnati Works ‘walks the walk.’”
