Stimulus Package and Other Resources

The Federal Government recently passed the CARES Act, a $2 trillion stimulus package that includes multiple benefits for individuals, including a check sent directly to you and expanded unemployment benefits.

Stimulus check: a one-time check for up to $1,200 per adult and $500 for dependent child. Click here for more information on who qualifies and how the payment will be delivered.

Expanded unemployment benefits: including an extra $600 per week; a chance to receive benefits immediately, skipping the standard waiting period; and benefits for certain self-employed and part-time workers. Click here for more information.

Additional Resources During the Health Crisis

Transportation: Metro and TANK have reduced the number of routes they will run each day, but they are not collecting fares.

Childcare: Child care sites in Ohio must operate under a Temporary Pandemic Child Care License. Job & Family Services has a list of licensed sites on its website.

Housing: Prevention, Retention & Contingency (PRC) funds are available for Hamilton County residents to help with emergency employment-related barriers, and they can be used to cover rent during the current crisis. Student Lunch: Cincinnati Public Schools is distributing lunch for kids across the city on Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons from 11 AM – 1 PM. More information on that and other CPS services is available here, along with a list of distribution locations for the free lunches.

Student Activities: Museums across Ohio offer virtual programming through online education activities, tours and live-stream events. Click here for a list of programs. … The Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Adapting for Life program helps young people understand and identify the drivers that can lead to harmful and suicidal behavior and helps students find better ways of coping during difficult times. Student Loans: As of March 13, interest on all federal student loans is waived for 60 days. Monthly payments will not change, but it is an opportunity to pay off more of the loan. Click here for more information.

    I need information about the stimulus check. I am on Social Security disability income and my husband is disabled but didn’t Get his doe stability yet. The only income we have is my disability check. I did not claim him on my stimulus check last time so he did not get one how do I make sure he gets one if there is another one? Please help. Thank you
